Myrtle Point Bobcats Football 44-0 Illinois Valley

The Myrtle Point Bobcats needed a statement game, and they delivered in a big way Friday night, shutting out Illinois Valley 44-0 to snap back into the win column in convincing fashion. It was exactly the kind of performance a team needs when it's looking to turn a season around, and the Bobcats gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about from start to finish.
Myrtle Point dominated on both sides of the ball, putting up 44 points while keeping Illinois Valley off the scoreboard entirely. That kind of complete effort doesn't happen by accident. The defense was suffocating all night, and the offense kept the pressure on, never letting the Panther offense find any rhythm or breathing room. Credit goes to the whole roster for showing up locked in and ready.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 3-2 on the season, a much better place to be than where they were a week ago. The second half of the season is still wide open, and if Myrtle Point can carry this kind of momentum forward, things are starting to look up on the southern Oregon coast. The Bobcats are back, and Friday night was a reminder of what this program is capable of.
