Marshfield Pirates Girls Volleyball 3-0 Sutherlin

The Marshfield Pirates volleyball team picked up their first win of the season Tuesday, sweeping Sutherlin 3-0 on the road in non-league action. The Pirates, based in Coos Bay, Oregon, and competing in the Sky-Em League (4A), improved to 1-1 on the young season with the clean sweep at Sutherlin.

After dropping their opener, Marshfield responded with a composed, dominant performance, taking all three sets without allowing the Bulldogs to force a fourth. Road sweeps are never guaranteed early in a season when rotations are still being tested and chemistry is still forming, so the result carries real weight for a Pirates squad looking to establish an identity.
