Marshfield Pirates Girls Volleyball 3-1 North Bend

Marshfield girls volleyball picked up a road victory Thursday night, defeating North Bend 3-1 in a non-league matchup played in North Bend. The Pirates, who represent Coos Bay, Oregon, in the 4A-4 Sky-Em League, snapped a stretch of inconsistency with the win, pulling their overall record to .500 at 9-9 on the season.
Playing away from home, Marshfield handled the pressure of a rival county matchup and took three of four sets against the Bulldogs. While a detailed box score was unavailable, the Pirates controlled enough of the match to close it out decisively, dropping only one set along the way.
The non-league result carries no bearing on Sky-Em League standings, but the timing matters. Getting to .500 heading into the final stretch of the regular season gives Marshfield a measure of confidence as postseason implications come into focus.
The Pirates will look to build on Thursday's momentum when they return to action later this week.
