Coquille Red Devils Girls Soccer 4-1 Illinois Valley

Coquille's girls soccer team picked up a convincing road result Thursday, defeating Illinois Valley 4-1 in a Sunset Conference (2A) league matchup to improve to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Red Devils, based in Coquille, Oregon, made the trip to Illinois Valley and came away with their best offensive performance in recent memory, putting four goals on the board against a home side that could only respond once. The win snaps what had been a difficult stretch for Coquille, which entered the contest at 3-9 on the season. A four-goal road effort in league play is a meaningful marker for a program still working to build momentum this fall. With the conference slate far from over, Thursday's result gives Coquille genuine standing to climb the Sunset Conference standings. The team will look to carry this confidence into its next league outing and see whether Thursday's performance signals a turning point in the second half of the season.
