Marshfield Pirates Girls Soccer 1-1 Cottage Grove

Marshfield and Cottage Grove played to a 1-1 draw Thursday in Sky-Em League (4A) girls soccer at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Oregon. Neither side could find a decisive goal, and the deadlock left both teams searching for answers heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Pirates, who entered the match at 7-2-2, added a tie to their ledger and now stand at 7-2-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. The conference record remains strong, keeping Marshfield in solid position in the Sky-Em standings despite the missed opportunity for a win at home. A draw against a league opponent always carries mixed feelings, and the Pirates will need to sharpen their finishing if they want to make a strong push in the postseason. Marshfield returns to action next week with a chance to get back on the winning side and solidify their standing before the playoff picture comes into focus.
