Myrtle Point Bobcats Boys Soccer 0-8 St. Mary's, Medford

St. Mary's of Medford handed Myrtle Point a tough 8-0 defeat in boys soccer Tuesday evening, sending the Wildcats home from Medford with their first loss in three outings. Myrtle Point, representing the 3A-SD3 Special District 3 out of Myrtle Point, Oregon, made the trip north for a non-league contest against a Medford program that proved to be a significant step up in competition. The Wildcats were unable to find an answer offensively, and St. Mary's took full advantage, building a commanding lead that held through the final whistle. Despite the lopsided result, Myrtle Point entered the match with a winning record and demonstrated willingness to schedule challenging opponents outside of league play, which can only benefit the squad as postseason preparation continues. The loss drops Myrtle Point to 11-8-2 on the season. With the non-league schedule behind them, the Wildcats will turn their full attention back to Special District 3 play and the stretch run toward the playoffs.
